Tiananmen Square is just a huge rectangle of asphalt. You can see the characters created for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing on one side, lots of government building around and the Forbidden City on one side. Wonder what the emperors would think of having Mao's picture over the entrance to the Forbidden City.
